Consejo General de Colegios Oficiales de Odontólogos y Estomatólogos de España

Held by 1 clinic in our registry. 1 independently verified.

Overview

The Consejo General de Dentistas is the national umbrella body for the provincial colleges (colegios) of dentists in Spain. Registration with the relevant provincial Colegio is mandatory to practise dentistry in Spain. The Consejo coordinates ethical standards, continuing professional development, and represents the profession before national and EU regulators.

Founded: 1930 · Headquarters: Madrid, Spain

What It Covers

The Consejo's network of provincial Colegios maintains public registers of practising dentists, handles ethics complaints, and certifies continuing professional development. Spain operates within the EU professional-qualifications framework, so dentists qualified elsewhere in the EU can practise in Spain after registration with the relevant provincial Colegio.

Limitations

Confirms individual practitioner registration but does not assess clinic-level facility safety, which is regulated by the autonomous-community health departments. The Consejo does not publish clinic accreditation status — that is regional health-authority work.

Renewal and Validity

Annual registration via the provincial Colegio. Practitioners moving between Spanish autonomous communities must transfer their registration to the new provincial Colegio.
