Naczelna Izba Lekarska (Polish Supreme Medical Chamber)

Held by 2 clinics in our registry. 2 independently verified.

Overview

The Supreme Medical Chamber (Naczelna Izba Lekarska, NIL) is the mandatory professional chamber for all physicians and dentists practising in Poland. Registration with the Chamber is required by law and is the primary mechanism for verifying an individual's licence status. Poland is an EU member state, so EU mutual recognition of qualifications applies.

Founded: 1989 · Headquarters: Warsaw, Poland

What It Covers

The Chamber administers the Central Register of Physicians (Centralny Rejestr Lekarzy, CRL), handles specialty recognition, administers ethics rules, and conducts disciplinary proceedings. The register is publicly searchable by name and licence number.

Limitations

Chamber registration confirms individual practitioner licensing but does not accredit clinics or specific procedures. Facility-level accreditation is separate and voluntary. Dentist registration is combined with physician registration under the NIL umbrella but administered via regional chambers.

Renewal and Validity

Polish medical licences do not expire routinely but are subject to continuing education and professional conduct oversight. The register reflects current status and any disciplinary actions.

How to Verify

Verify any claim of Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists accreditation directly at: nil.org.pl

If a clinic claims this accreditation but does not appear in the public register, ask for the certificate number and expiry date. Contact the accrediting body directly to confirm.
